Bedazzled is a 1967 comedy about a man so desperate to win the girl of his dreams, he sells his soul to the devil for seven wishes.

The film revolves around Stanley Moon (Moore), a cook at a burger bar who lusts over Margaret Spencer (Bron), a waitress at the burger bar who he never has the guts to ask out. At his wit's end, Stanley attempts to hang himself. But when the plan flops, George Spiggot (Cook), a former angel and now the devil, who after centuries of trying to collect 100 billion souls to get back into heaven as an angel, intervenes and offers him seven wishes for whatever he wants in return for his soul - he accepts, which leads to six attempts (excluding his first wish for an ice lolly) to win Margaret over but they never quite go according to plan. From becoming a pop star to becoming a nun, there's always something going wrong as the “horned one” is always up to something and has a bit of devilish fun along the way!

Bedazzled is a really enjoyable and funny film with some fantastic writing and dialogue from Peter Cook and Dudley Moore showing both of their comic genius both separately and together, this underrated film is a fun and gratifying watch.

Score - 9/10
