Little Shop of Horrors is a 1986 comedy-horror musical, based on the 1982 Broadway musical, which in turn, was based on the 1960 low-budget Roger Corman movie, all of the same name. The story is about Seymour (Rick Moranis), a geeky keeper of rare plants who works at a flower shop in Skid Row, Manhattan. He fancies his co-worker Audrey (Ellen Greene), but she is dating a sadistic dentist, Orin Scrivello (Steve Martin) who loves putting his patients in pain. But one day when Seymour is looking for a new plant, there’s a eclipse and a alien plant appears for Seymour. He names it Audrey II and gains a lot of publicity because of it. Though the secret to it’s constant growth spurts is it feeds on human blood!

The movies guest appearances include John Candy, Christopher Guest and Bill Murray. Rick Moranis is great as Seymour and Steve Martin’s Orin is sure to full you with Dentophobia and laughter. Though Ellen Greene’s Audrey can be annoying at times, she still has a great singing voice. This film is a delight to watch with its catchy songs, quirky characters and dark but funny story.

Score - 8/10
